Ensuring the safety of you and your customers

Safety is paramount for all climbing and adventure facility operators and an unattached user, at height, is one of the most dangerous situations imaginable. Saken Safety Systems help reduce the chance of injury or fatality by alerting them and your staff to a hazard event.

How does the Saken Monitor 1.0 work?

Detect

The sensor array detects whether a user has entered a potential hazard area without connection to the safety system. The hazard area could be vertical in orientation, like while climbing upwards at a climbing gym/wall or horizontal as in access for an adventure park.

Alert

With a Tier 1 Alarm, audio and visual alerts are activated for the user / direct supervisor to identify the potential hazards situation. Additional visual and vibration alerts are sent to the handheld control devices, giving the location and level of alarm to facility staff.

A Tier 2 Alarm is configurable for undesirable situations, such as an accidental release of an auto-belay, giving a lower level alert to the handheld control devices with location and level of the alarm to facility staff.

Record

Additional functionality of the Saken Safety System includes downloadable data which can be configured to record:

  • Near miss and incident information, with time, date and location

  • Usage information of each unit: how many ascents, with time, date and location

  • Lifespan and inspection tracking information giving number of ascents for lifespan

  • PPE usage for each unit area, giving time date and number of ascents (with optional configuration) - e.g. hire harnesses
